Fluid Automated Management System

Components of FAMS

F.A.M.S. is a system solution for managing the total Wet Stock Usage of a process. The system incorporates various functions such as Automatic Tank Level Management, Secure Fluid Dispensing Management, Vehicle Information Management and Process-Data Management.

  1. Level Management System (LMS)

Automatic Electronic Management of Fluids in Storage Tanks

  1. Fluid Dispensing Management (FDM)

Controls and Manages Identification, Authorization & Allocation of fluid dispensing activities

  1. Vehicle Information Management (VIM)

Monitor and record vehicle specific parameters - improve management of vehicles & equipment

  1. Process-Data Management Software (DMS)

Central Data Processing & Reporting software system and Client Interface

INTRODUCTION INTO THE FAMS SOLUTION:

A. Tank Level System or Level Management System (LMS)

 ·         Automatically capture electronic dip of tank levels at scheduled intervals (Any size tank)

·         Multiple inputs/outputs from Flow meters, Level Sensors, Solenoid Valves, Pushbuttons, Warning Lights, Environmental Sensor (Air Flow), etc.

·         LMS Controller stores info locally and tank level is displayed on local visual display

·         All tank data is communicated to the central data management software

·         SMS/Email Alarms as well as Exception Reports can and will be created for fault-conditions  according to client needs

·         24/7 Reports available on all current and history tank level behavioural data

·         Level Management provides:

o   Real Time tank levels via internet or LMS Controller display

o   Tank level behaviour over customized time periods

o   Early warning alarms for irregular tank level behaviour such as leaks

o   With DMS - analyses of process as well as comparisons of time periods

o   Product Re-Order alarms can be configured to a user defined tank level

B. Dispensing Management with Dispensing Controller (DC)

·         Manages the dispensing of all fluids to any and all personnel, vehicles & equipment

·         The FDM controls all actions of that pump - No transaction will be started if a person or vehicle does not have the necessary level of authorization or if improper vehicle is inputted

·         FDM functions include:

o   Identification & Verification of person/vehicle who starts a transaction

o   Authorize users to only dispense at certain times and places

o   Authorize to dispense only certain amount of product at a time

o   Time & Date stamp every transactions as well as person, place, amount product, which product, reason for transaction, etc

o   Request reason before dispensing a product - Configurable

o   Stores and displays tank level information

o   Stores all information on a local SD Card for backup purposes

·         FDM communicates wired or wirelessly to Data Management Software

·         FDM Equipment is very robust and was designed to operate in harsh conditions

·         FDM interface provides audiovisual feedback on actions to simplify operations

·         FDM can incorporate different IDENTIFICATION technologies:

o   Person/Driver/Dispensing Officer ID KEY – Present tag to station to identify

o   Tank-to-Nozzle ID: - Only dispense when a fluid nozzle successful identifies the vehicle tank opening. Install “Reader” on nozzle and “Tag” at vehicle tank opening

o   Vehicle Information Modules

o   Combination of various identification techniques

C. Vehicle Information Management

·         Continuously captures vehicle/equipment parameters

·         Integrated GPS, short range radio and designed for low power consumption applications

·         Parameters include:

o   Running hrs, idle time & km’s travelled

o   maximum speed, average speed, acceleration

o   Route plotting

o   Tank Level Measurement

·         With the above information, the following can be supplied:

o   Monitor on road fuel usage & real time production information

o   Calculate route specific parameters such as CPK and others;

o   Capture & Verify on-road data such as fill-up quantities

·         All information is stored and sent to central DMS

·         Standard and Customized reports simplify process statistics and analysis

D. Data Management Software or DMS

·      DMS is available 24/7 via an internet connection

·      Client data is Username and Password protected

·      Transactions can be added by hand if a vehicle/equipment had to fill at another point where no FAMS is available

·      Data for last 5 years is available – Longer back than 5 years archived but still available

·      Various standard and customized reports available via internet such as:

    • Vehicle/Equipment List Overview – All process site equipment
    • Specific Product Usage Overview – Usage information on specific product
    • Specific Vehicle Usage – Usage of a Specific Vehicle
    • Transaction Type – If have different types of transactions
    • Cost Centres – Create own Costs Centres; Usage on Cost Centres
    • Fuel Usage – Fuel Usage of Group/Cost Centre/Vehicle/etc.
    • Store Usage – Usage of a dispensing point i.e. Specific Pump Station
    • Allocations – Reasons for dispensing. Reports on usage per Allocation reason
    • Stock Level Reports – Real time tank dips, trend tank level history, re-order levels.
    • Statistics Reports – Usage and production Statistics on Vehicles/Equipment
    • Exception Reports – Flagged users on over-usage or poor-consumption
